About the Event
Kisan Melas play a vital role in strengthening the agricultural ecosystem by facilitating direct interaction between farmers, scientists, innovators, startups, and industry stakeholders. These platforms enable effective dissemination of modern agricultural technologies, promote innovation-driven farming practices, and provide farmers access to quality inputs, market linkages, and expert guidance.
In this backdrop, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K) is organizing the 11th SKUAST-K AgriTech Mela – “GONGUL: Onset of Sowing” from February 14 to 16, 2026 at the Main Campus, Shalimar, SKUAST Kashmir. The central theme of the mela, “NextGen Agriculture: My Produce – My Price”, emphasizes farmer empowerment through technology adoption, value addition, entrepreneurship, and market-oriented agriculture.
The AgriTech Mela will showcase next-generation agricultural innovations including improved seed varieties, advanced farm machinery, AI-enabled tools, precision farming technologies, and sustainable agricultural practices. The event will serve as a dynamic convergence point for farmers, startups, researchers, students, agri-entrepreneurs, policymakers, and industry leaders to exchange ideas, explore innovations, and build collaborations.
GONGUL 2026 will feature a wide range of exhibitions, live demonstrations, startup showcases, scientific interactions, and buyer–seller meets covering agriculture and allied sectors such as horticulture, floriculture, mushroom production, food processing, organic farming, medicinal and aromatic plants, livestock, and agri-based enterprises. Building on the success of previous editions, the mela is expected to attract large participation and contribute significantly to knowledge sharing, technology transfer, and sustainable agricultural development in the region.
